I've Been Named an Heir — What Now?

A complete guide for individuals inheriting a digital vault via the Inheribase protocol.

I've Been Named an Heir — What Now?

If you have arrived at this page through an official Urgent Delivery Notification, you have been designated as an Heir to an Inheribase digital vault.

We understand that you are likely interacting with Inheribase at a difficult time. This system was designed precisely to protect you and guarantee that you safely bridge the gap between the vault owner and the assets they left to you.

You do not need to be a technical expert to complete this process. This guide provides exactly what you need to know about claiming your digital inheritance.

1. What Just Happened?

Inheribase operates as a mathematically protected digital vault. The owner designated you as a recipient of their vault in the event of their passing or incapacitation.

Because the vault relies on the "Dead Man's Switch" or manual trigger protocols, the vault remains entirely private during the owner's lifetime. Heirs are not notified of their status until the release trigger fires and the mandatory contestation period has safely elapsed.

If you are receiving this email:

  1. The vault's release conditions have been permanently met.
  2. The vault's contents are now legally and cryptographically assigned to you.

2. What Is Required From You?

You do not need cryptocurrency, a specialized crypto-wallet, prior technical knowledge, or to pay any fees. Inheribase handles the complex infrastructure invisibly in the background.

To claim the vault, you will need:

  1. Access to the email account that received the Urgent Delivery Notification.
  2. A smartphone or computer capable of generating a standard Passkey (Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, or a device PIN).

3. How the Release Process Works

  1. Email Verification: Click the Claim Vault link in your notification email. You will be routed to a secure page at app.inheribase.com/claim.
  2. Setup Identity: You will verify your email and create a Passkey. This creates a secure, mathematically sound anchor to your identity without the need for a blockchain wallet.
  3. Guardian Coordination: Behind the scenes, the vault owner's designated "Guardians" (trusted friends, family, or attorneys) will securely transmit their cryptographic key fragments to authorize the final release of the vault.
  4. Access Granted: Once the Guardian threshold is met (e.g., 2 out of 3 Guardians have authorized the release), the vault is unlocked exclusively for you.

4. What Will You Receive?

You will receive the exact, unredacted contents stored in the vault exactly as the owner sealed them. Inheribase cannot see or alter the files.

  • Inheribase does not interpret or read the files.
  • You will be able to download the raw files directly (e.g., estate documents, photos, seed phrases, bank account details).
  • If multiple Heirs were designated, each Heir receives complete and equal access to the entire vault. Inheribase does not split or distribute the internal assets individually.

5. Timeline and "Time to Claim"

The Inheribase protocol is backed by Arweave, a decentralized permanent storage network endowed for over 200 years.

There is no rushing required. The vault will not expire, the storage bills were completely prepaid by the vault owner, and the encrypted data is permanently archived.

Take your time. You may initiate this claim whenever you are ready.
